Robot & Frank… file under sensitive and moving.

Here’s a slice of near-future science fiction, the Sundance-winning SF film Robot and Frank, in which an old codger played by actor Frank Langella gets a robot nursemaid (that resembles the Sony Labs droid) to help look after him from his kids… son James Marsden and daughter Liv Tyler, who are sadly too busy too with their own lives to look after dad properly.

The droid is programmed to try and keep wily Frank Langella active in his autumn years, and encourages him to take up his old profession of thief! It’s a clever non-action piece which crosses Last of the Summer Wine with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, with added robots!

Robot & Frank... file under sensitive and moving.

The machine that loves you like you kids won’t.
